About Sarah Mason Hats & Headwear
Sarah Mason started her study of millinery in January 2006. Initially looking for a hobby, she enrolled on a part time course at the Adult Education Centre in Southend. On successful completion of this course, Sarah went on to study at a further two courses, tutored by Sara Grundy. In November 2006 Sarah started her own business.
During 2007, Sarah found success at Ladies Day, Ascot when one of her pieces was voted in second place as best hat of the racing week by visitors to www.frockonline.com. Autumn 2007 found Sarah working with her tutor Sara Grundy on hats for the West End Musical “Mamma Mia.”
Throughout this time Sarah has done numerous talks/demonstrations for local groups in the area. She has also taught pupils at the Deanes School in Benfleet as a part of the school’s Enterprise intiative. In September 2008 Sarah worked with Fee Doran, aka Mrs Jones. Fee styles the Killers, Scissor Sisters and others. Fee also designed and made the iconic white cat suit worn by Kylie Minogue in the video for “Can’t get you out of my head.” Sarah lives with her husband Dave, sons Eddie aged 8, Ben aged 6 & Nick aged 4 in Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex. |
